Wesley Whittlesey

Predoctoral Psychology Trainee

Wesley Whittlesey (he/him/his) is currently completing his doctorate in clinical psychology at California Lutheran University. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz. His current doctoral research is examining the relation between exercise and relationship satisfaction, commitment, and conflict in couples. He has had experience working with adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds, including ethnic and sexual minorities, as well as individuals from low socio-economic upbringings in community mental health settings. Mr. Whittlesey’s clinical experience includes treating those with histories of domestic violence, sexual abuse, complex trauma, generalized anxiety, major depression, substance abuse, and psychosis. He specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and reality therapy, and has received training in trauma-informed care, effective parenting skills, crisis support, and community resourcing.
