Lizeth Lopez, Psy.D., LMFT

Dr. Lopez holds a doctorate degree and a masters degree in Clinical Psychology, in addition to a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Lutheran University. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California at Irvine. Her doctoral research examined relationships between verbal fluency performance and select demographics among Spanish-speaking Latino adults. She is experienced in providing therapeutic and assessment interventions in culturally sensitive, systemic, and strength-based modalities to persons of all ages. Dr. Lopez completed an APPIC accredited pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology at the BRAINS Consortium in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she provided neuropsychological assessment, therapy, and professional consultation services in a community mental health setting. She has received training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.  She has facilitated various therapeutic groups including parenting education groups for volunteer and court-mandated parents, the Program to Evaluate and Treat Sexual Abuse (PETSA) group to victims and their families, and social and adaptive behavior skills groups to children and their caregivers. Dr. Lopez has served as an adjunct faculty member at California Lutheran University and the University of LaVerne. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, American Psychological Association, California Latino Psychological Association, and the Ventura County Psychological Association. Dr. Lopez is a licensed marriage and family therapist and is fluent in Spanish.
