WIAT-IV Administration & Interpretation: Mathematical Abilities

Completing comprehensive psychological assessments is a skill unique to psychologists. However, it is understood that a limited number of psychologists conduct comprehensive psychological assessments as part of their clinical work. This course is designed to support licensed psychologists in strengthening their awareness and competency in understanding of comprehensive assessments. The purpose of this course is to increase psychologists’ ability to interpret and integrate testing data to better understand the results of data obtained during comprehensive evaluations.

Learning Objectives

·         Display understanding and familiarity with administration procedures of the WIAT-IV mathematics subtests.

·         Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of abilities and skills examined by the subtests, scales, and indices of the WIAT-IV.

·         Demonstrate ability to interpret scores and results of the WIAT-IV.

·         Demonstrate ability to connect subtests with DSM-5-TR criteria for a specific learning disability in mathematics.

·         Utilize data from the WIAT-IV to discern underlying learning disorders as well as profile of strengths and weaknesses and inform recommendations.

·         Demonstrate the ability to connect testing data with in-vivo symptom presentation to assist in diagnosis, treatment planning and intervention.
