Mariela Ponce-Calderon

Mariela Ponce-Calderόn is a doctoral-level trainee in the process of completing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis on Latino Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapy, from Antioch University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of La Verne. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from a variety of backgrounds including indigenous and low socio-economic families. She has a wide range of clinical experience including treating those with histories of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, victims of crime and clients with complex trauma. She specializes in working with Hispanic/Latinx families; multicultural issues; cognitive behavioral therapy; play therapy; and child-parent relationships. In addition to working towards her requirements to become a psychologist, Ms. Ponce-Calderόn is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, holds a Play Therapy certification from Antioch University, and is fluent in Spanish.
