Carlos M. Flores, Psy.D., LMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist
Dr. Flores (he/him/el) completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology earned from Pepperdine University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. His doctoral research examined rites of initiation of recreationists within the San Gabriel Mountains through experiences of Type 2 Fun (i.e., how people’s sense of community and belonging are formed though challenging but rewarding experiences in the San Gabriel Mountains). Dr. Flores completed a CAPIC-approved predoctoral internship at Pasadena City College’s Personal Counseling Services. Dr. Flores provided services in a community-based mental health setting for 8 years. His previous clinical experience includes working with adolescents, young adults, adults, families, the neurodiverse community, the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and Kink community. He has been trained in trauma-informed care, solution-focused interventions, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Dr. Flores is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and The San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association. Dr. Flores is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and a postdoctoral fellow.
